Read this before you run LocalMax or submit a result. Use of the software and the website means that you accept these terms.

Read the source first. LocalMax runs on your computer. It reads hardware data and starts an inference server. All source code is public atgithub.com/pavel4ai/localmax.net. Examine it before you run it. Do not run software that you have not examined.

Submissions are voluntary

You are not required to submit a result. You start each run. You start each submission. Command localmax inspect shows the full content of a submission before upload. Nothing goes to LocalMax until you approve it.

You accept all risk

You use LocalMax at your own risk. A benchmark puts a large load on your hardware for a long time. This can cause high temperatures, high power use, instability, data loss, or damage to hardware.

You are responsible for your hardware, your cooling, your power supply and your data. You are responsible for backups. Make sure that your system is safe to operate at full load before you start a run.

You are responsible for permission

Submit results only from hardware that you own or that you have permission to benchmark. Do not submit a result from a system under a confidentiality agreement or an embargo. You are responsible for compliance with the licence of each model and each data set that a benchmark uses.

Submitted data becomes public

An accepted result is public and permanent. LocalMax publishes it under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence, and copies it into a public Git history. You give LocalMax an irrevocable licence to publish the measured data, the system configuration data and the evidence that you submit.

You can request removal. See Privacy. Removal from Git history occurs only for exposed secrets or personal data.

No warranty

LocalMax is supplied "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. This includes, but is not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a purpose, and non-infringement.

Results come from the public. A verification state describes the completeness and the internal consistency of the evidence. It does not prove that a value is correct. It does not prove that an operator was honest. Do not use this data as the only basis for a purchase, an engineering decision or a publication.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent that the law permits, LocalMax, its owners, its maintainers, its contributors and its agents are not liable for any damage. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary and punitive damage. It includes damage to hardware, loss of data, loss of profit, loss of use and business interruption. This applies even if LocalMax knew that such damage was possible.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify LocalMax, its owners, its maintainers, its contributors and its agents, and to hold them harmless. This applies to all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and legal fees that result from:

Removal of content

LocalMax can remove or annotate any result at any time, for any reason, and without notice. Reasons include fraud, a breach of a third-party licence, exposure of personal data, and a request from the contributor.

Trademarks

NVIDIA, GeForce, RTX and DGX are trademarks of NVIDIA Corporation. Other product names are the trademarks of their owners. LocalMax has no relationship with, and no endorsement from, these companies.
